The Kampot Kitchen

This was a branding project for an e-commerce site selling boutique peppercorn from Kampot, Cambodia. The online marketing strategy involved distributing recipes and other content through social media channels to create brand awareness and to drive traffic to the website. The client wanted branding that was warm and friendly, yet also upscale and knowledgable. It needed to convey the idea that the peppercorns are grown ethically and organically without the use of pesticides. This particular variety of pepper also has ties to old world French aristocracy, so it was important to convey a sense of history. We employed an emblem-style logo, which conveys trust, history, safety, stability and classic authenticity. The colour palette was sampled from photos of peppercorns grown in the Kampot region and are also hunger-inducing colours. We made a rubber stamp for easy branding and a double-gatefold mini-brochure to be included with the outgoing shipments. Fun fact: I also wrote the tag line “Not your run of the mill pepper.” 🙂
